A guest arrived this weekend – needs a little TLC.

State of the ignition is good:

Piston is not looking perfect, scratching around the intake side. It looks to be the original piston perhaps (Mahle) as it’s 63.94mm; exactly what you would expect for a first piston in a 200 Bella:

 

The gear stack however is a different story, not looking that healthy at all – much wear. Fourth gear looks a bit better compared to the others:

Lay shaft looks OK compared to the worn gears – suspect it has been changed in the past:

Engine halves taken apart:

After disassembly, engine halves took a bath…

 

Crankshaft bearing outer races removed:

And new bearings installed for the clutch gear stack; they were running quite rough:
